Use of Technology Statement

This blog is a personal record of my life, my family, and the spiritual experiences that have shaped me. It is not a doctrinal source, nor is it intended to teach, interpret, or replace the counsel of living prophets and apostles. I sustain the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles with all my heart, and I seek to align my life with their teachings.

From time to time, I use modern tools—including artificial intelligence—as part of my writing process. I use these tools only to help me organize my thoughts, preserve memories, and express experiences that are already my own. I do not use AI to generate doctrine, spiritual guidance, revelation, or anything that would replace prayer, scripture study, or the direction of Church leaders.

Recent counsel from Elder Gerrit W. Gong and others has reminded me to use technology with wisdom, boundaries, and spiritual discernment. I take that counsel seriously. My use of AI is limited, careful, and always secondary to the promptings of the Holy Ghost and the teachings of the Savior.

This blog is simply a place where I reflect on my journey, share lessons learned, and record the stories I hope will bless my children, grandchildren, and anyone who may find something familiar in my experiences. Nothing here is meant to elevate my voice above those the Lord has called. I write only as a fellow disciple, striving to keep covenants, strengthen family, and walk in faith.

About Me

I’m Joel — a husband, father, grandfather, and a man shaped by family, faith, work, and the many seasons of my life. My childhood years, my mission, and the different careers I’ve worked have each taught me things I’m still learning from today.

This blog is my place to gather the stories, reflections, and lessons that have shaped me. Some come from my early family experiences, some from the people who influenced my life, and many from the quiet moments when the Lord has helped me see things more clearly.

I write mostly for my children and grandchildren — so they can know my heart, understand where I’ve come from, and carry forward the parts of my story that matter. But I also hope that anyone who finds their way here might discover something familiar, something encouraging, or something that helps them feel less alone in their own journey.
